A Authority
Last updated: July 8, 2026
Authority does not collect, store off your device, transmit, or share any of your data. It is a client-side tool: everything happens in your browser, on your computer.
None. Authority has no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking, no advertising, and no user accounts.
Authority uses your browser's local storage (chrome.storage) only to
remember your settings and, if you buy Pro, your license status. This data stays
on your device and is never transmitted.
The only network request Authority can make is to verify a Pro license key,
and only if you choose to enter one. When you submit a key, it is sent to
Gumroad (api.gumroad.com) solely to confirm the purchase. If you never
enter a key, Authority makes no network requests at all. Gumroad's handling of
that request is governed by Gumroad's own privacy policy.
Authority requests the minimum permissions: activeTab and
scripting (to pull your selected text from the current tab on an
explicit click) and storage (for settings and license status). It does
not request access to your browsing history, your tabs, or arbitrary websites.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL.
